Under Duress: Hat - So… What are you going to do about all that leftover yarn from your Under Duress Sweater project? How about a hat? Here is a pattern designed to make extra use of those lovely colours!
This hat goes perfectly with the matching Under Duress: Mitts.
Approx. 75g of total weight of suggested worsted weight yarn in 4 colours.
5mm (US 8) (or size required to get gauge) and 4mm (US 6) circular needles of 80cm (32”) or longer, 1 stitch marker (optional: 8 markers to place at decrease points), measuring tape and yarn needle for weaving in ends.
One size only - will fit 20”-22” (51cm - 56cm) head circumference. For a smaller size, suggest going down 1 or 2 needle sizes, or reduce the number of cast on stitches by 4. For a larger size, cast on 4 extra stitches. For hat length, add/subtract rows as you desire.
The style of the hat is of a slouchy beanie. For less slouch, reduce the number of rows before the crown decrease. Likewise, increase these rows if you require more slouch.
